POCONO RECORD
PENNSYLVANIA - Artist Claire Giblin will exhibit her artwork at Gallery 705 through May 21. An opening reception will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday (today) at the gallery, 705 Fulmer Ave., Stroudsburg. Giblin's spacious simple abstractions are remindful of the iconic symmetry of medieval religious art as well as the symmetrical format and light of Rothko's paintings. The spaciousness and glowing light of Giblin's paintings recall the works of 19th-century American luminosity landscape painters, especially the glowing sunsets of Albert Bierstadt and other Hudson River School artists.
