Chagall's Biblical Works on Display in Russia

RUSSIA - Works of the great painter Marc Chagall on biblical themes, imported from France, have first been displayed at the St. Petersburg Art Center. The exhibition «Le Bible» offers 60 lithographs of the Master, illustrating events of the Old Testament. The biblical theme deeply moved the artist all throughout life. He admitted to having been fascinated by the Bible at an early age. He felt that this book was the greatest source of poetry of all time, and he began looking for its secret reflection in life and art. [link]
