ON CHRISTIANITY'S HOLIEST DAY, James Frey, the bad-boy of publishing will release his novel attacking Jesus Christ as a modern-day alcoholic living it up in NYC. Entitled, "The Final Testament of the Holy Bible" and released on Good Friday, the writer plans to generate lots of media attention and sales! Aside from this now tired approach to assaulting on the Christian Right, he is doing some novel book marketing.
- The Gagosian gallery in New York will publish his manuscript. It will be printed on canvas and on display alongside new artworks by several top American artists to illustrate it.
- Just 10,000 copies of the standard hardcover book will be printed ($50), with an additional collectors' edition of 1,000 signed volumes ($150).
- The standard editions will come bound in black leather with the cover typography resembling that of the Holy Bible.
- Lastly, Frey will self-publish his work directly as an ebook ($9.99) through Kindles, iPads, Nooks and eReaders, and there isn't a publishing house in sight.
